We were introduced over text by a mutual friend, Benjamin, who thought we would get along. The first time we met in person, Kait's mom dropped her off on the side of the highway at Roaches Line where Cam was waiting in his car (with Benjamin, otherwise Kait's mom may kept driving past). We were pretty immediately obsessed with each other.

We lived together through almost 5 years of university and finally convocated in 2018! Cam with a Bachelor of Engineering and Kait with a Bachelor of Commerce.

After graduation, we started applying for jobs away from NL to move off the island - something we had each always wanted for ourselves. Eventually we scored jobs in Ottawa, packed up the car, drove halfway across the country, and moved into an apartment building on the 7th floor. We immediately loved the city and really made the most of it.

We spent months looking for a pound pup to come home with us and eventually met this weird little guy from Kentucky. Part boxer and part chihuahua, Squid literally is our son and the love of our lives.

In summer 2024, we did a road trip in California from San Francisco down to Los Angeles, stopping at all the beautiful beaches and any silly sight one of us had to see along the way. We were on day 3 in Cambria, a small coastal town, taking a walk on the most stunning beach after breakfast. Cam succeeded in keeping the ring hidden from nosy Kait and surprising her, giving a very 'deer in headlights' look. Couldn't have been more perfect.

After 7 years in Ottawa in apartment 706, we felt it was time to move back home to NL. We packed up everything and with the help of one of our best friends in the city, Kae, started the trek. After too many snowstorms, a flu that took us all of out commission for a couple days, a delayed ferry, and 2,600km later, we made it back home to this beautiful foggy rock.
